At Core Alliance, we offer expert meniscectomy procedures to reduce knee pain, improve mobility, and help you return to doing what you love most.
What Is a Meniscectomy?
A meniscectomy is a surgical procedure that removes part or all of a torn meniscus in the knee. The meniscus acts as a shock-absorbing cartilage between the thighbone (femur) and shinbone (tibia), and when torn, it can lead to pain, swelling, and joint instability.
At Core Alliance, Dr. Rovner performs meniscectomy arthroscopically—through small incisions using a tiny camera and specialized tools. Depending on the type and severity of the tear, he may perform either a partial or total meniscectomy. A partial procedure removes only the damaged segment, while a total meniscectomy removes the entire cartilage.
